I received a report that the helpfile can sometimes not be opened if it is located on a network drive. The error message on the German Windows version is "Die Navigation zu der Webseite wurde abgebrochen" (in english it is "Navigation to the webpage was canceled").

This problem occurs on Windows Vista and sometimes also with Windows XP Service Pack 2. It is a side effect of the new Internet Explorer's security mechanisms.

It should help, if you copy the helpfile to your local harddisk. If that is not possible, you should open the context menu of the .chm helpfile with a right mouse click, select "properties" or "Eigenschaften" and click "allow" or "zulassen".

Unfortunately on at least one of my PCs that button is not available (WinXP Professional, SP2). I found a useful freeware utility HHReg at "http://www.ec-software.com/products_hhreg.html", which registers files individually. Please use this utility if the button does not appear in the context menu of the file.

Once again, this is a side effect of a Microsoft security update. There is not much that I can do. Probably a real installation could help, which automatically registers the helpfile, but that doesn't seem to be worthwile for such a tiny utility.

Thanks to Hans, DL5RAZ, for pointing me to this issue.
